From Knowing the Theory to Practicing With Confidence

Graduate training gives you the foundation.

Clinical work asks you to make nuanced decisions in real time,

often when there is no single obvious answer.

Supervision is where we slow the work down, look at the full clinical picture, and determine what is happening, what may be maintaining it, and what will be most useful next.

Our work may include:

  • Case conceptualization and treatment direction

  • Working through cases that feel stuck or unclear

  • Recognizing relational, attachment, and nervous-system patterns

  • Integrating somatic awareness into clinical work

  • Strengthening therapeutic boundaries and use of self

  • Ethical decision-making, risk assessment, and documentation

  • Managing clinical responsibility without becoming overwhelmed by it

  • Developing a sustainable professional identity and practice

This is thoughtful, practical supervision. You will have room to reflect, but we will not stop at reflection. The goal is to help you make sound clinical decisions and know what to do with what you are seeing.

My Approach to Supervision

I bring more than 22 years of clinical experience to supervision, along with extensive training in trauma-informed, relational, somatic, and nervous-system-based approaches.

My style is direct, engaged, and collaborative. I will help you identify what you are already seeing accurately, notice what may be missing, and think through the clinical, relational, ethical, and systemic elements of the case.

I am particularly well suited to clinicians who want to move beyond applying techniques and develop stronger clinical judgment. You do not need to practice exactly as I do. Part of supervision is helping you develop a way of working that is ethical, effective, and genuinely your own.

Who I Work With

Supervision is available to Colorado LPCCs working toward independent LPC licensure.

It may be a strong fit if you:

  • Want experienced guidance rather than supervision that is primarily administrative

  • Appreciate direct feedback and thoughtful clinical discussion

  • Want to understand patterns and systems, not simply manage isolated symptoms

  • Are interested in relational, attachment, somatic, or nervous-system-informed work

  • Want help translating theory into clear clinical decisions

  • Are committed to ethical practice, professional growth, and appropriate documentation

Before beginning, we will confirm that your work setting, clinical responsibilities, and supervision needs fall within my competence and meet Colorado requirements.

About Pam Dobbie, MA, LPC

My clinical background includes anxiety, relationships and attachment, recurring emotional and behavioral patterns, trauma-informed care, chronic illness, and nervous-system regulation. My advanced training includes Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, and Brainspotting, Sand Tray, EFT, NLP, Psychodrama and action methods, Gestalt, Inner Child.

Across my work, I am interested in how the pieces connect: the client’s history, present environment, relationships, physiology, coping patterns, and the therapeutic relationship itself. I bring that same systems-oriented thinking to clinical supervision.

The first step is a brief consultation to review your license status, work setting, clinical population, supervision needs, and scheduling. This is a mutual fit conversation, not a sales call.

Supervision arrangements are subject to an initial fit assessment and written agreement. Licensure candidates are responsible for maintaining an active credential, accurately tracking their clinical experience, and understanding the requirements that apply to their individual path toward licensure. Supervision is not considered established until the supervision agreement has been signed by both parties.
